Bus Services

Dublin Bus route 120

The 120 bus runs between Parnell Street and Ashtown Station / Royal Canal Park.  3 early morning buses run as far as Ballsbridge, leaving Royal Canal Park at 07:40, 08:00 and 08:20.  Buses run every 10 minutes during peak times and the last bus from the City Centre is at 23:30 from Monday to Sunday. A single fare to the City Centre is €2.15.

Pre-paid smart cards are available from Centra in Royal Canal Park or Spar in Rathborne.  The 10 journey Travel 90 ticket, for example, allows you 10 journeys of 90 minutes unlimited travel for €21.50.

Alternatively, you can use the Leap Card which can be used on Dublin Bus, Luas, DART and commuter rail services.  Click here for further information.

Click here for the 120 bus timetable.  You can also use Bustxt, a Dublin Bus timetable service delivered via text message (SMS).  Send BUS 120 to 53503 for times of the next few 120 buses.  Send BUS 120 1800 for bus times from 18:00 onwards. Texts cost €0.30 plus standard rate SMS (including VAT).

Nitelink

Unfortunately, the 120 bus route does not currently offer a Nitelink service. The closest Nitelink service is the 39N which stops at Ashtown Roundabout (beside the Halfway House pub), which is about a 10-minute walk from Royal Canal Park (along the canal).  Buses leave Westmoreland Street every half an hour between midnight and 4am on Friday and Saturday night.  There is a flat fare of €5.

A taxi fare from the City Centre to RCP is about €14. For your own safety and peace of mind please use licensed taxi cabs only. Some residents get the 39N to the Navan Road and then get a taxi from there as many taxis drive down the Navan Road back into town.
